Globally recognised, what’s that?
Is ACCA a Degree or Masters?
The ACCA Qualification is broadly equivalent to UK university degree standard when you complete the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams.
When you complete the Strategic Professional exams, it is equivalent to a UK university Master’s degree.
ACCA’s External Examiner reports on the standard of the Strategic Professional and Applied Skills examinations against the UK Framework for Higher Educational Qualifications (FHEQ) level descriptors, to ensure the examinations are set at the appropriate level.
ACCA’s Foundation-Level qualifications are recognised on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and globally regulated by Ofqual.

Global Recognition
Recognition in your ACCA qualification can come in the form of Brand & Employer’s recognition, Formal recognition on qualification framework, Statutory recognition for audit and regulated roles, Professional Accountancy Body Recognition like Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).
MRA makes it easier for you to access membership of other professional bodies. This MRA includes Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Malaysia Insitute of Certified Public Accountants. ICPA Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates’ Accountants and Auditors Association.

ACCA vs FCCA?
When you have graduated from ACCA (completed/exempted all ACCA papers), you are called an ACCA Affiliate. To become a full member of ACCA, you have to meet the practical experience requirements (3-year) and completed the Ethics and Professional skills module (EPSM).
Once you’ve become a member, fellowship is the next major milestone in your professional journey with ACCA. After five-years’ continuous membership and compliance with our CPD policy, you’ll earn the right to use the ‘FCCA’ designation and enjoy the additional prestige of being a Fellow.
