Merry Christmas our BSF children, and to all you family members
A surprise video from all of us:
Remember when we started the study of Matthew, we learnt of the birth of Jesus Christ?
In Matthew Chap 1: 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Fun Facts:
- Do you know Jesus is not born in the month of December. So 25th Dec is NOT his birthday.
- Santa Claus is not from the bible. Why there is Santa Claus in Christmas then? The character of Santa Claus is based on St. Nicholas. As per a legend, St. Nicholas was a Christian bishop who provided for the poor and needy. He also loved children and enjoyed giving gifts to them secretly. As his story spread, he was called Sinterklaas in Dutch, which later became Santa Claus. We bet you didn’t know this fact either!
- When Jesus was born, the Magi brought gifts to Jesus. We learnt this is Matthew 2: 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. However, the best gift is actually God for us – the gift of Jesus Christ, where the Bible tells us “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.“
