How much does it cost to study ACCA? It all depends on how many papers you need to attempt and how long you intend to use for your duration of your study. Generally, when you embark on the ACCA professional course, you will need to pay both ACCA itself and to us, Genesis Origo – an approved learning partner with ACCA. In a nutshell, your journey to complete ACCA will cost you the following:
Amount Payable to ACCA UK
  • Initial Registration fee – when you register as a student at £89.
  • Annual Subscription fee – this is an annual fee you have to pay. Therefore, the longer you use for your ACCA studies, the greater this will cost you. It is currently at £134.
  • Exemption fees – if you join ACCA with a relevant qualification like an Accounting Diploma or with a degree, you may get exemption for some ACCA papers and you have to pay an exemption fee for each paper you are exempted.
  • Exam fees – ACCA has 4 exams over a calendar year (March, June, September and December). You will need to signup for exam around 6-7 weeks prior to the exam. Exam fees range from £122 – £266 per paper.

ACCA Course Duration

There are all together 13 papers in ACCA. They are structured as follows:
  • ACCA Knowledge Papers – Papers BT, FA and MA
  • ACCA Skills Papers – Papers LW, PM, TX, FR, FM and AA
  • ACCA Strategic Professional Papers – Papers SBL and SBR
  • ACCA Strategic Professional Options – Papers AFM, ATX, AAA and APM (need to pass Any TWO)
ACCA does not have time limit imposed on Knowledge and Skills papers. Therefore, it does not matter how long you intend to study and complete them. All strategic professional papers that you have passed will have an expiry date of 7-year. Therefore, you have to complete all the 4 strategic papers within the 7-year duration from the first pass, or else any of the strategic professional paper that you have passed will be forfeited. You will have to sit for exam exam for such paper. Remember, this does not affect all the knowledge and skills papers. It will be difficult for a student to follow a generic study plan. You can provisionally check your exemption eligibility from ACCA exemption calculator. However, these are not a final and conclusive indication as ACCA will have to individually approve your exemption application. You shall apply your exemption together with your ACCA registration. Therefore, prior to your registration process, please ensure you have prepared these:
  • Qualification documents (Certificate and Transcript) – they must have your name, your institution name and logo, subject codes and marks/grades, completion date.
  • Identification document (e.g driver’s license or national identification card)
Remember, you do not have to pay any exemption fee yet when you register with ACCA. You will be issued with an exemption notification and an invoice subsequently. That is when you have to pay the exemption fees.
