What am I expected to do?

You have to complete your ACCA Ethics and Professional Skills module.
You need an OBU Mentor – yes, at Genesis Origo, we have qualified and experienced mentor.
You have to complete a Research and Analysis Project and a Skills Learning Statement.
There are 2 submission periods in a calendar year, either in May or November.

How much time do I need to spend?

Typically, you will need to dedicate about 3-4 months.

How is OBU Degree classification work?

Your degree will be classified from First Class, Second Upper, Second Lower to Third Class depending on both the average marks achieved in the ACCA specified papers and the grade of your thesis (Grades A, B, C and F). However, for students who passed upon re-submission, you will only be given a grade C for your research.

What are the OBU Topics available?

There are a wide range of topics available. Some commonly chosen topics by ACCA students are as follows:

Analyse and evaluate the business and financial performance of an organisation which has performed exceptionally poorly over a three-year period with a critical analysis of the reasons for its difficulties.
Analyse and evaluate the business and financial performance of an organisation which has performed exceptionally well over a three -year period with a critical analysis of the reasons for its success
Analyse and evaluate the business and financial performance of an organisation operating in a sector that has faced strategic and operational challenges with an emphasis on how management have addressed these challenges.

What happened if I failed in my submission?

The rules on resubmission shall depend on whether you failed both or either the RAP and SLS.

Failed RAP only – only resubmit RAP without needing to resubmit SLS. You has to re-write the sections that you have failed only.
Failed SLS only – you shall rewrite and resubmit your SLS except for any section of the SLS which has been passed, where amendment is not needed for that section.
Failed both RAP and SLS – you shall resubmit the whole RAP with re-writing the sections that you have failed and also rewrite and resubmit the SLS.
