English for Adults – Business English

Warren Buffet, the most successful investor in the world feels so strongly about developing our communication skills. In a forum, when asked about, what is an important skill to work on, Warren replied — “Invest in yourself. The one easy way to become worth 50% more than you are now — at least — is to hone your communication skills — both written and verbal. If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark — nothing happens. You can have all the brainpower in the world, but you have to be able to communicate it.

Business English is a specialized form of English that is used in the business world for communication between professionals. It is different from general English in that it often includes specific vocabulary and phrases that are commonly used in business settings, such as financial and marketing terminology. Business English may also include specific communication styles and conventions that are used in business settings, such as presenting and negotiating.

In addition to technical vocabulary and communication styles, Business English also often involves understanding cultural differences and being able to communicate effectively with people from different countries and cultures. This may involve adapting your language and communication style to be more appropriate for the culture of the people you are communicating with.

Overall, the main difference between general English and Business English is that Business English is tailored specifically for use in professional settings, while general English is used in a wider range of contexts.
